What is a dahlia cutting?

Dahlia cuttings are live dahlia plants that will bloom this season. They are another way to propagate dahlias. If cared for correctly (fertile soil, regular watering and regular harvesting) throughout the growing season, they will produce a small tuber clump that can be overwintered or dug and divided for dahlias the following year.

All dahlia cuttings purchased from the West Seattle Flower Farm will have at least three sets of leaves and have ample roots (which will develop into the dahlia tubers over the course of the season.)

They will be hardened off (meaning I slowly introduced them to outside from my grow room over the course of a week) and ready for planting in your garden.
